  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (optional)
  • 1 cup Pecans chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Dates chopped (optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Mash the bananas in medium sized bowl if you havent already. My toddler loves taking over this step.
  • In a bowl, sift the flour, add baking soda and salt.
  • Now to the mashed bananas add the egg, vanilla essence, melted butter and both sugars.
  • Pour the dry mixture over the banana mixture and mix it all up.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips, pecans and dates if using any. I almost always make this Banana bread with the chocolate chips and pecans.
  • Pour the batter in the prepared loaf pan and bake for 40-50 minutes. Set the timer to 40 minutes and insert a toothpick when timer goes off and bake until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Set aside to cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes then remove from pan and let cool completely.
